The results of a cigarette butt clean up by Fresno State students are on display this week in the Henry Madden Library with an April 26 contest to guess how many butts were collected. The clean up was conducted April 20 as part of Earth Day activities  by Project IMPACT 4 Life, a group of Fresno State students concerned with second-hand smoke exposure who advocate for a smoke-free campus. The winner of the contest, which is open to the public, will receive a $50 Visa gift card announced at the final display event 11 a.m.-1 p.m.Friday in the Free Speech Area. Students also will gather signatures at the event to petition for a smoke-free campus. Currently, smoking is permitted only in 22 designated outdoor areas on campus.
