Michael Thao, MD, a counselor at the Fresno State Health Center and believed to be one of the first Hmong psychiatrists, will be among 89 resident physicians graduating from the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program in a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the William Saroyan Theater in downtown Fresno (700 M Street). Thao volunteered during the spring semester at Fresno State’s University Heath and Psychological Services under an agreement with UCSF Fresno Department of Psychiatry for optional rotation in their Psychiatry Residency Program. He worked under the supervision of Dr. Scott Ahles.
