Fresno State professor of psychology Dr. Constance J. Jones was selected as a 2013 Gerontological Society of America fellow. The status of fellow is the highest class of membership in the society and is awarded for outstanding and continuing work in the field. Jones is among 56 professionals to receive the fellowship this year. Founded in 1945, the Gerontological Society of America is the nation’s oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to research, education and practice in the field of aging. Jones is chair of the Department of Psychology in the College of Science and Mathematics at Fresno State and has taught at the university since 1993. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of California, Berkeley and a doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies at Pennsylvania State University.
