CineCulture and Filmworks will present the film “20 Feet From Stardom” at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Tower Theatre (815 E. Olive Avenue). The award-winning music documentary is a celebratory yet heartbreaking film that the Los Angeles Times calls “a moving and joyous behind-the-scenes documentary about a world filled with big, bold personalities.” The film tells the personal stories of several unheralded female backup singers, women whose voices have supported some of the most legendary performers of all time, including Bruce Springsteen and the Rolling Stones. Following the 5:30 p.m. showing, local musicians will join educators Benjamin Boone and Mike Dana in a postscreening discussion. Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for students and seniors.
