The new Paws-N-Go Market that opened today on the east side of the North Gym will give Fresno State students, faculty and staff a new convenience-type market on the west end of campus.

The 900-square-foot store will be operated by University Dining Services and will sell various personal care and household items, basic school supplies, an assortment of beverages and pre-packaged food and snack items including items from the university’s Gibson Farm Market including Fresno State ice cream.

Hours of operation for the fall semester will be 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 12 noon – 9 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

“The store provides a more expanded retail offering to our students living on campus or those who may be walking to and from the west side of the campus on a day-to-day basis,” said Ricky Serrano, Dining Services manager who also manages the Starbucks on campus as well as the Satellite Student Union snack bar.

“The market will carry the everyday items that customers need so they do not have to go off campus to purchase such items.”

University Dining Services hired six Fresno State students to help operate the new Paws-N-Go Market and Serrano has been involved in the design and layout of the market as well as collaborating with Associated Students Inc., the University Student Union Board and the Resident’s Hall Association to gain input on the products that should be offered.

Today’s soft opening helped kick off Fresno State’s Homecoming Week with giveaways including gaming headphones, T-shirts, sweatshirts, basketballs and athletic bags and a raffle drawing sponsored by Pepsi.

Students living in the University Courtyard received a promotional card that gives them five free fountain beverages compliments of Dining Services and Pepsi Bottling Group.
