John Tehranian, author and attorney, will discuss “Playing Cowboys and Iranians: Selective Colorblindness, Middle Eastern Identity and the Geographies of Whiteness” at Fresno State, 5:30-6:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, in the Peters Business Building, room 191. Tehranian will talk about public discourse on race colorblindness, powerful use of Middle Eastern/Islamic themes to question President Obama’s authenticity and current debate on affirmative action and immigration policy. Reception and refreshments will be from 5-5:30 p.m. and Q & A from 6:15-6:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public but seating will be limited. RSVP is recommended by Nov. 12.
