Islamic Culture Center of Fresno honors Madden Library

The Madden Library at Fresno State won the 2014 Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno’s (ICCF) “Spirit of Abraham Award” that honors an entity or individual who promotes cross-cultural understanding. The award will be presented during the ICCF’s “Night of Spirituality” July 2. Organizers selected the Madden Library because of its work to familiarize the campus community with Muslim people, history, faith and cultures by bringing “Muslims through the Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys” to campus. The grant funding this collection of books and films was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the American Library Association (ALA).
