University Dance Theatre of Fresno State will showcase student talent at its 24th semi-annual production, “Prisma,” that runs April 24-26 and includes a special number featuring artists from previous productions.
The semester-end project presentation is at 8 p.m. each night at the Lab School Theatre, Room 101. A matinee will be presented at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The presentation also will feature a special performance by the Fresno State Contemporary Dance Ensemble.
For this semester’s production, students have created 20 choreographed dance pieces ranging from high energy, athletic contemporary dance to hip-hop. Student involvement ranges from the talent onstage to the behind-the-scenes work including sound, lights and composition.
Another special presentation will be a video edited by Kenneth Balint, a Fresno State dance professor, showing dancers throughout campus as they move and perform.
Tickets are $5 at the Theatre Arts Box Office in the Speech Arts building or online at fresnostate.edu/theatrearts. Doors open 30 minutes before the show and early arrival is recommended for premium seating.
