California’s drought will be the focus of the 2014 Water Technology Conference, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday May 8 at the Clovis Veteran’s Memorial Building. Presented by the International Center for Water Technology, the conference features technical speakers, over 40 exhibitors, poster sessions and networking opportunities.

“The drought is on everyone’s mind. This year’s conference will provide an important opportunity to learn from researchers, industry and water managers about the San Joaquin Valley’s water resources and what we can expect in the future,” said David Zoldoske, director of the International Center for Water Technology.

The event kicks off with a morning session featuring two panel discussions:

  • Water Resources and Sustainable Agriculture:  Panelists include Eduardo Montoya, California State University, Bakersfield; Rob Negrini, California State University, Bakersfield; and Tom Tomich, University of California, Davis.
  • Water Supplies and the Future: Panelists include Kamyar Guivetchi, Department of Water Resources; Martin Querin, City of Fresno; and Andrew Stone, American Ground Water Trust.

He is also President of Belridge Water Storage District and Chairman of the Kern Water Bank Authority.
