Jennifer Bernard, a 2014 economics graduate from Omaha, Neb., is the winner of the $5,000 Charles McCall Award for the Best Undergraduate Paper presented at the annual Social Science Research and Instructional Council (SSRIC) Student Research Conference. Her paper, “An Examination of California’s Realignment Policy and Property Crime Rates,” was written under the supervision of Dr. David Vera, economics professor. Bernard has been accepted into the Master’s in Public Administration program this fall. The SSRIC fosters research in the social sciences by students and faculty throughout the California State University system. The annual conference was held May 8 at CSU, Fullerton.
