Fresno attorney Riley Walter is the 2014 William M. Lyles Vision Award winner in recognition of his unwavering support of the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State.

Walter was cited for his work as both a mentor in the Entrepreneur Mentor Program and as the outgoing chair of the Advisory Council at the Lyles Center’s End of the Year Banquet in May.

“Riley is one of those few individuals who has a rich historical understanding of the Central Valley,” said Dr. Timothy Stearns, executive director of the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. “That understanding has enabled him to see the potential of the region and how it will blossom into an innovation economy. His efforts to foster that outcome make him a well-deserved recipient of the Vision Award.”

Inaugurated in 2010, the William M. Lyles Vision Award honors an individual who has positively impacted the Central Valley by recognizing its future potential as a region for the flourishing of entrepreneurship and innovation. Past recipients of the accolade include Michael W. Hennessy, Dr. John D. Welty and Claude Laval III.

Walter is a shareholder at the Walter & Wilhelm Law Group in Fresno.
