Record $72 million in financial aid disbursed on campus

Fresno State will distribute a school-record $72 million in financial aid this academic year from various sources, about $4 million more than last year, announced Dr. Frank Lamas, vice president for student affairs. The disbursement assists a record 14,200 Fresno State students — 1,000 more than previous years. Classes for the fall 2014 semester begin Thursday, Aug. 21. President Joseph I. Castro will deliver his annual state-of-the-university address to faculty and staff at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18.
