The Fresno State Police Department reminds motorists to anticipate increased traffic around the university during the first few weeks of school when classes begin Aug. 21 as well as for the Rascal Flatts concert that evening at the Save Mart Center (parking lot and roadway restrictions will be in effect on the east side of campus for the 7:30 p.m. concert. There are approximately 8,309 total parking spaces with 5,572 of those designated for students (green lots). Student parking permits for the semester cost $93 and are valid Aug.1-Jan. 12. They are available online or at the police department (2311 E. Barstow Ave. at Jackson Drive). Daily permits are available for $3 at dispensers located at entrances to the campus. Parking is enforced 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday. No permit is required on weekends (4 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday) or for state holidays, except during special events. Metered parking is available at various locations for $1 an hour.
