Fresno State’s CineCulture fall film series begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center in the Student Recreation Center (Woodrow and Shaw avenues) with a screening of “In the Shadow.”

Directed by famed film director/producer David Ondricek and written by Marek Epstein, the crime drama is set in Czechoslovakia in 1950s when it was under the control of the Soviet Union. It touches on political fire storms, anti-Semitism and a Cold War attack on the U.S .
