Nearly 100 Fresno State volunteers will take part in two projects for Serving Fresno Day 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22. Volunteers will participate in a trail restoration and construction at the McKenzie Table Mountain Preserve with Sierra Foothill Conservancy and a gleaning project at Fowler Ave. and Hwy. 99 with Fowler Packing, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) and the Food Recovery Network. Volunteers will be gleaning either grapes, pomegranates or mandarins and will receive a safety training orientation on-site. The event is presented by Fresno State’s SERVE Committee, a student leadership team through the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning.
