The Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED) named Marianne Collins King as associate director, operations.

A native of Silicon Valley, King previously served as the principal of Collins King Communications and has 15 years of experience working with a multibillion dollar insurance company where she developed expertise in alternate dispute resolution, mediation, litigation, conflict resolution and case management.

Currently King serves as board member for the nonprofits Face Forward, Inc., MadeForThem and the Fresno Art Museum. She is a member of the Fresno Downtown Partnership Association, Fresno Historical Society, Association of Junior Leagues International, Society for Human Resource Management and Central California Society of Human Resource Management.

The OCED also announced several additional new hires including Emily Pasquarelli as administrative assistant, Jenna Chilingerian as program assistant, Karmjot Grewal as program manager and Jena Rodriguez as communications assistant. All are natives of the Central Valley and Pasquarelli, Grewal and Rodriguez are alumnae of Fresno State.

The OCED connects the eight counties of the San Joaquin Valley to Fresno State’s resources through data, research, industry insights, and connections to collaborators, investors, researchers, affiliates, and new markets. OCED administers the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, San Joaquin Valley Rural Development Center, San Joaquin Valley Housing Collaborative, San Joaquin Valley Regional Broadband Consortium, the Smart Valley Places initiative and the Community and Regional Planning Center located on the Fresno State campus.
