The Fresno State Helping Hams campaign ends today with $4,497 raised for 149 hams that will be distributed to several local charities on Friday, Dec. 19 at the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market on campus (2385 E. Barstow Ave.). The goal was bolstered with a gift of $3,000 from RCO Ag Credit, Inc., an agriculture finance company based in Fresno. Alumnus Mitchell Metzler, president and CEO of RCO Ag Credit, Inc., delivered the check  last week to purchase 100 holiday hams for area families in need. The Helping Hams campaign, coordinated by the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, its student-operated Gibson Farm Market and Associated Students Inc., was kicked off Nov. 13 when University President Dr. Joseph I. Castro donated for the first four hams. Families wishing to receive a ham through the campaign may contact one of the charities that will be announced early next week.
