The Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale will perform Robert Cohen’s Alzheimer’s Stories on a concert program along with Fresno State Chamber Singers and Fresno State Concert Choir in works reflecting the theme “The Power of Music,” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, in the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall at Clovis North High School (2770 E. International Ave.) in Clovis. Dr. Alexander Sherriffs, co-director of the UCSF-Fresno Alzheimer’s and Memory Center and family physician practicing in Fowler, will speak at 1:30 p.m. prior to the performances. The Fresno State Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Tony Mowrer, will begin the concert. Dr. Anna Hamre, director of Fresno State’s chorus, will conduct the Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale’s performance featuring work composed for chorus, soloists and orchestra with libretto by 2012 Grammy winner Herschel Garfein. Also on the program are pieces by composer Robert Cohen, who will be in attendance. The concert’s theme focuses on the FCCMC’s new motto “Giving Voice to the Central Valley.” Community health care and memory care specialists also will be present with lobby displays.
