Dr. Barbara Mujica, novelist and professor of Spanish at of Georgetown University will discuss “Was St. Teresa a Feminist?” at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Alice Peters Auditorium, where she will also give away free copies of her novel, “Sister Teresa,” to the first 35 students in attendance. She is the first speaker in a free, two-part public lecture series on St. Teresa hosted by the Fresno State Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. The second event features Dr. Victoria Fuster, professor and chair at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13 discussing “The Importance of Place: Avila and St. Teresa in the Writings of George Santayana and Jose Jimenez Lozano.” Daily parking permits are $3 and available throughout campus.
