Dr. Abby Córdova, assistant professor of Political Science at the University of Kentucky, will discuss “Shaping Politics at Home,” a free, public talk about political behavior in Latin America, at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, for the World Cultures and Globalization Cohort Speaker Series in Peters Business Building, Room 11. Her presentation will examine the impact that having family living abroad has on local political action for Latin Americans and the impact of migration on those who stay behind. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Córdova’s research focuses on the impacts of social and economic inequality on citizens’ political attitudes and behaviors.
