The Henry Madden Library will host an exhibition June 17-Aug. 14 featuring the work of Fresno County photographer Howard K. Watkins. It begins with a free, public opening reception from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, in the library’s Leon S. Peters Ellipse Gallery. The exhibit features Watkins’ first formal show of 48 of his prized photographs and will include 1,200 photos on display. At the reception, a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the breadth of his collection of nearly 300,000 photographs will be shown in the adjoining lobby. Attendees will also learn what is planned for Phase 2 of Watkins’ Photo Archive Project Endowment housed in the Special Collections Research Center. Madden Library hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday (closed weekends for summer).
