Fresno State history professor Dr. Michelle DenBeste, interim dean of the College of Social Sciences and an expert on Russia, will lead a CineCulture post-film discussion of “Leviathan” at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25,in the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center (5010 N. Woodrow Ave., west of Save Mart Center in the Student Recreation Center). “Leviathan” takes place in a fishing town in Northern Russia, and is centered on the life of a small-business owner named Kolya. The town’s mayor threatens to take everything Kolya possesses, but the mayor’s attempt is met with resistance. The event is sponsored by the Fresno State History Department.
