The Leon S. Peters Lecture Series continues 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, with Dr. Robert C. Jones, associate professor of Philosophy at Chico State, discussing “How Not to Be a Vegan” in McLane Hall 121. The free, public talk will examine how veganism is a commitment to minimize violence, objectification, domination and oppression. Jones, whose doctoral research at Stanford University focused on the moral significance of animal cognition, argues that those in consumer culture living under late capitalism are obligated to adopt a form of veganism.
