Several accomplished cellists including world-class masters Phillippe Muller of France and Csaba Onczay of Hungary will perform and conduct classes for attendees of the 2015 Cello Festival Thursday-Sunday, Oct. 8-11, at Fresno State.

The festival invites students from around the world to participate in four days of intense master classes, cello ensemble rehearsals, two concerts, a young artists’ competition and more.

Artistic directors Thomas Loewenheim from the Fresno State Department of Music and Emilio Colón from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music are among the faculty featured at the event.

The opening Festival Gala Concert, featuring the Fresno State Symphony Orchestra, will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Fresno State Concert Hall (Music Building).

The final Cello Mania Gala Concert featuring the Youth Orchestras of the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall at Clovis North High School (2770 East International Ave.) in Fresno.
