The new “Latinas in Academia Lecture Series” designed to encourage undergraduates to consider graduate school will run from noon – 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19 in the University Student Union, room 309. Presented by the Graduate Net Initiative with the Women’s Studies Program and the Division of Graduate Studies, the series will highlight the experiences, challenges and success of Latinas as they navigate life in the academic world. The first installment of the series will feature the presentation “Forging Paths to Graduate School and Beyond” by Dr. Larissa Mercado-Lopez, women’s studies professor, with MFA student Mia Barraza Martinez.
