The College of Arts and Humanities and Department of Art and Design at Fresno State will present the first anniversary Graduate Student Exhibition from May 5 -14 at the Graduate Art Studios Gallery (1419 M Street) in downtown Fresno. The exhibitions theme is “Content,” and it will include work in various mediums by graduate art students.

The work in this show is diverse and expresses the talent and thought processes of the graduate students. As the title of the exhibit suggests, the work on display is meant to challenge not only on a visual and aesthetic level, but by focusing on the ambiguity of words and language, the question of how content an artist is with the content of their work is explored.

The Graduate Art Studios facility opened in May 2015 as a creative collaboration between the College of Arts and Humanities and Granville Urban Development’s M Street Arts Complex.  The studios offer educational opportunities and professional development as students work side-by-side with faculty and professional artists.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary, a reception will be held at the Graduate Art Studios gallery from 5-8 p.m., Friday May 5 in conjunction with ArtHop. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. during Second Saturday, May 14, 2016.
