USU Productions, Funny or Die and NextGen Climate will bring comedians Demetri Martin, Beth Stelling, James Adomian and Kate Berlant to Fresno State’s Satellite Student Union at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, to promote voter registration.

Jokes for Votes uses comedy to get college students involved in the democratic process. Comedians are touring California campuses to register students to vote before the deadline on Monday, Oct. 24.

Guests can RSVP for the free event at JokesForVotes.com.

To combat the low voter turnout among younger generations, students will be able to register to vote on site.

Martin is known for his involvement in Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and for his work as a standup comic. Martin’s work combines comedy and music to deliver his jokes.

Stelling participated in the fourth season of Comedy Central’s “The Half Hour.” Adomian worked on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and has provided the voice of animated characters on various shows, and Berlant was a guest on Comedy Central’s “The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail.”

NextGen Climate encourages youth to vote and tackles issues like climate change, education, women’s reproductive rights and police brutality.

USU Productions is a student group on campus that works to develop entertaining and enriching events and programs throughout the year. Their work includes movie screenings, concerts, student tailgates trips and other activities.

The comedians cannot be recorded on stage. For more information, contact the Student Involvement office at 559.278.2741.
