Fresno State celebrates International Education Week Nov. 14 through 17 with an exhibition that opened Monday on the second floor lobby of the Henry Madden Library, a food security fair to combat homelessness and a reception both on Thursday.

The week concludes with International Culture Night at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Satellite Student Union.

The Food Security Project Resource Fair will be 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at the University Student Union Balcony to provide information about on and off-campus resources dedicated to combating hunger, homelessness and food insecurity to students as part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week #NHHAW.

The exhibition is a display of posters created by students, faculty and staff highlighting their projects, research, international exchanges and partnerships to better demonstrate global contributions made on campus.

The inaugural International Showcase and Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, will serve as an open forum where attendees can view, interact and ask questions about the projects and experiences abroad. Speakers will highlight current and future projects, partnerships and plans Fresno State has to further international education and exchange worldwide.

The annual International Culture Night Sunday will showcase various cultures and share educational experiences through songs, dance and a fashion show depicting cultural attire from all around the world.

Mansi Agarwal, coordinator of International Culture Night, said the event highlights cultural diversity and how differences can be a strength.

International Education Week events are hosted by International Student Services and Programs, which recruits international students and assists them throughout their academic careers at Fresno State.

International Education Week is a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and to exchange experiences around the globe.
