Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development will showcase their EnviroAtlas tool from 9:45 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Henry Madden Library (Room 3212) and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Grosse Industrial Technology building (Room 290). EnviroAtlas is a web-based collection of interactive tools and resources that provides data, research and analysis on the relationships between people, nature, health and the economy. Available data for Fresno will be presented, including walking distance to parks, tree cover along walkable roads, commute times and urban heat island mitigation. Users of EnviroAtlas can explore over 100 fine-scale maps of the greater Fresno area and over 300 maps of the U.S. This event is sponsored by the Department of Recreation Administration’s SPARCI program.
