Rosamaria Meza Walk

Rosamaria Meza Walk

The Fresno State Sigma Alpha sorority is hosting the Walk for Rosemary 5K charity fundraiser at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, to support member Rosamaria Meza, a senior agricultural education student, in her battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma cancer. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. for the campus walk that starts at the Speaker’s Platform next to the Henry Madden Library, with advance registration requested at bit.ly/FS-WalkForRosemary. The Caruthers native was initially diagnosed with the rare bone cancer in June 2014. After surgery and a year of chemotherapy treatment, the cancer went into remission and was followed by cancer-free tests for one and half years. A positive test in October 2016 revealed the cancer’s return and Meza began a new chemotherapy program in December. For more about her story and health updates, see her Facebook page “Life’s a Battle, So Fight On” or contribute to her hospital fund at http://www.gofundme.com/ojsqno.
