The Camp Kesem Fresno State chapter will host its second annual “Make the Magic” fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Fort Washington Golf and Country Club in Fresno. Camp Kesem is a nationwide community of over 3,000 college students dedicated to supporting children whose parents suffer from cancer. Camp Kesem is a peer-based support system, anchored in a network of free summer camps for the children to help them through and beyond their parents’ cancer treatment. The week-long camps, which allow children to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, are led by passionate college student volunteers across the country and the Fresno State chapter is now raising funds to help send 45 Central Valley youngsters to camp from Aug. 5 to 10 as well as provide year-long support. The fundraiser will include a cocktail hour and dinner with a former counselor and a camper family as special guests. Ticket prices are $50 each and $450 for a table of 10. Guests must be 16 years or older. INFO: Hannah Poore, Camp Kesem Fresno State chapter, at hannahpoore7@mail.fresnostate.edu.
