New York Times “Foreign Affairs” columnist and three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas L. Friedman will discuss his latest best seller “Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist’s Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Save Mart Center. Friedman has worked for the New York Times since 1981 and has reported on stories ranging from the first Palestinian intifada, which won him his first Pulitzer Prize, to the Iraq War. He won a second Pulitzer Prize for his 1989 book “From Beirut to Jerusalem” and his third for a series of columns on war and terrorism after 9/11. The U.S News & World Report considers Friedman one of “America’s Best Leaders.” The lecture is free and open to the public with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Parking is free. Friedman will answer questions after the discussion and will sign books from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. University President Joseph I. Castro will make an appearance during the lecture.
