Jordan Cody – Veteran of the Year 2017

Fresno state student Jordan Cody, a sophomore communication major and Marine Corps veteran, was honored by Assemblyman Jim Patterson as the 2017 Veteran of the Year.

Cody served three deployments in Afghanistan, where he fought in the Battle of Majah, one of the biggest military operations since the beginning of the Afghanistan war.

He received many awards during his service, including the Combat Action Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Valor, the Good Conduct Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

He is currently a student assistant in the University’s Veterans Education Program, providing guidance and mentorship to incoming veteran students.
