(October 6, 2017) — Fresno State celebrates its annual Homecoming Week Oct.9 through 15 leading up to a community pep rally Friday, Oct. 13, and the football game against New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Bulldog Stadium.

“We Are Fresno State” is the homecoming theme. Activities begin with pit stops from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, where breakfast snacks will be handed out to students at two locations on campus: Speaker’s Platform north of the Madden Library and the Maple Mall south of the Satellite Student Union.

The official kick off is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday on the lawn south of the Science I building (San Ramon and Maple avenues, south of Barstow Avenue).

The highlight of the week is the Homecoming Big Show hosted by Student Involvement which will feature comedians Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect and Workaholics), Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project) and Adam Ray (Spy) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Save Mart Center. The comedy night event is open to students, faculty, staff and Fresno State alumni.

“For years students have expressed interest in having a large scale performance on campus,” said Shawna Blair, program and events coordinator in Student Involvement and adviser of the homecoming committee. “It’s finally here, and we are thrilled to have three great comedians in our lineup. We worked hard to bring some of the best acts to make our homecoming one of the biggest, boldest yet.”

USU Productions and the Kennel Bookstore will host a celebration full of games, activities and giveaways for National Student Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Memorial Court (where Memorial Fountain is located, south of Kennel Bookstore).

Among the highlights of Homecoming Week is the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Save Mart Center, where alumna Kim Ruiz Beck, chairman of Ruiz Foods, will be honored along with 13 other outstanding alumni.

Other Homecoming Week events include several on-campus activities and tailgates the day of the game. See full homecoming schedule at www.fresnostate.edu/homecoming.
