The Ethics Center presents Richard Rothstein, who will speak about his recent book, “The Color of Law,” from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, in North Gym 118. “The Color of Law” examines how segregation in America is the byproduct of explicit government policies at the local, state, and federal levels. Rothstein will speak about his book and his work on “the forgotten history of how government segregated America.” Rothstein works with the Economic Policy Institute and the Thurgood Marshall Institute of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and is a professor at the University of California at Berkeley School of Law. He is the author of many books and a former New York Times columnist. This event, part of the Fall 2017 Leon S. Peters Ethics Lecture Series, is cosponsored with the Central Valley Health Policy Institute at Fresno State and the Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability. Rothstein will be available to sign copies of his book, which will be on sale at the event. Spanish translation available. Childcare will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
