Fresno State Music Department faculty and students will present a tribute concert in honor of composer Dr. Brad Hufft, a longtime music faculty member who passed away suddenly last spring. The concert will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Fresno State Concert Hall. The concert will feature several of Hufft’s solo and chamber works. The President’s Quintet will be featured, as well as the faculty brass quintet and student string and saxophone quartets. Solo and duo harp performances were a special interest of Hufft’s. Vocal music takes center stage in the world premieres of the last two pieces he wrote, a setting of the “Magnificat” and a chamber work based on the poetry of his father-in-law, William S. Choate. Admission is free. Donations are graciously accepted for the Dr. Brad Hufft Memorial Music Scholarship.
