University Theatre will present “Fat Pig” from Nov. 1 through 9 at the Dennis and Cheryl Woods Theatre in the Speech Arts building. The Fresno premiere is written by Neil LaBute and directed by Brad Myers. “Cow.” “Slob.” “Pig.” How many insults can you hear before you have to stand up and defend the woman you love? Tom faces that question when he falls for Helen, a bright, funny, sexy young woman who happens to be plus-sized and then some.

Forced to explain his new relationship to his shallow friends, Tom comes to terms with his own preconceptions of the importance of conventional good looks. Tickets are $17 for adults; $15 for Fresno State faculty, staff, alumni and military; and $10 for students. Children under 5 not admitted. Parking is free for shows on Friday through Sunday nights.

For shows on Tuesday through Thursday nights, parking permits are $5 and can be purchased at dispensers in parking lots on campus.
