  • STAR — Class Registration Unaffected -- Fresno State's Student Assisted Telephone Registration is not be affected by an outage as the university's phone lines will continue to operate. A back-up system to support the Periphonics (STAR software) boxes that handle STAR calls is also in place. Students may still call at their appointed time to sign up for classes.

  • HEALTH CENTER SERVICES -- Critical areas on generator -- The University Health and Psychological Services has a backup generator which supplies the most critical areas with power and some lighting, reports Dr. Robert Paull, the center's executive director. However, a blackout would affect the center's ability to see patients for routine care as the exam rooms are not on emergency power. But Paul said a down time of an hour or so should not be a major problem.
