The roundabout path that Dr. Kathy Moffitt took to get to the Craig School of Business had intermediate stops as an anthropologist/archaeologist at the Museum of Northern Arizona and with the U.S. Forest and National Park services. Since coming to Fresno State, her dedication to students has attracted a large following of graduates who keep in touch as their careers progress. Dr. Moffitt’s specialization in information technology and background in natural resource management led her to establish the Interdisciplinary Spatial Information Systems (ISIS) Center on campus to provide students with practical experience with “real world” GIS projects and internships. Dr. Moffitt sponsors student organizations and arranges conference experiences to deepen the student experience. One such activity is the Alpha Iota Delta, Kappa Mu Chapter, a scholastic honorary society for Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department students. With Dr. Moffitt is Karla Clemmons, a senior Information Systems and Decision Sciences major. |
