FresnoStateNews.com just received two top awards for excellence in a prestigious international communications competition. “The Communicator Awards” are presented only to those whose work exceeds the highest standard of excellence in print, radio and television. Fresno State received the highest honor – a Crystal Award of Excellence - for its news Web site www.FresnoStateNews.com and an “Award of Distinction” for the www.SaveMartCenter.com Web site, which is part of the overall news Web site. The news Web site provides daily updates about the Fresno State campus, as well as other features such as streaming video and audio from campus events, a "Top Ten" list of hallmark Fresno State programs, and links to the best university Web sites. The Save Mart Center site tracks the development of the $100 million Save Mart Center at Fresno State--the largest collegiate events center on the West Coast. Judged by industry professionals, The Communicator Awards recognize companies and individuals whose talent “exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.” Other recipients of the award this year include organizations such as the American Medical Association, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the American Cancer Society, Boeing, Delta Airlines, Disneyland, Hilton Hotels, Kent State University, Lockheed Martin, The Mayo Clinic, Motorola, NASA-Langley, and Sandia National Laboratories. Cal Poly Pomona also received one of the top awards With over 3,660 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries, The Crystal Award of Excellence is given to those entries whose ability to communicate puts them among the very best in the field. ### |
