California State University, Fresno President John D. Welty has named Sandy Brown and Roxanne Stephenson to the University Advisory Board, a panel of community members who advise the president regarding the improvement and development of the university.

Brown operates Sandy Brown Financial Services, a boutique financial planning firm in Fresno that provides business and personal investment planning and implementation.

A native of Detroit and an alumnus of Michigan State University, he has lived in Fresno for seven years. He is involved in a variety of community activities, including Community Medical Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the local MSU alumni chapter and his church. Brown and his wife, Sara, have three children.

Stephenson is a native Fresnan and a graduate of Fresno State, as is her husband. She was owner and president of Promac Fabrication and Equipment in Fresno, which manufactures wine processing equipment and provides engineering assistance in the design of special processing equipment, until leaving the business to spend more time with her youngest child.

She is actively involved in her son’s school and athletic programs and serves on the board of his intermediate school. She also is a member of the board of directors of Vie-Del Company and Madera Enterprises.

Other members of the President’s Advisory Board are Dr. Katherine Flores, chair; John Boogaert, vice-chair, and members Jim Anton, Elaine Bernard, Julia Brown, J. Michael McGowan, Hugo Morales, Michael Patton, James Shekoyan and Julie Tone.
