 With
spring semester instruction officially completed yesterday, Fresno State
is observing Study days today and Friday (May 10 and 11) to prepare for
final exams that begin Monday and to consult with faculty members, if
necessary.
Finals continue through Thursday, May 17. Commencement activities begin
with convocations and the graduate hooding ceremony on May 18 and
include the university’s 96th Commencement on May 19.
Preparation for the final days of activity began this week with Senior
Experience in front of the Kennel Bookstore, where graduating seniors
were treated to refreshments in celebration of completing the semester.
They also were surveyed regarding Senior Experience project services
provided through the Office of Advising Services to help seniors
navigate through the information and services available to them. Senior
Experience is a program created to promote and celebrate the achievement
of Fresno State seniors.
 The Kennel Bookstore reports brisk sales of graduation apparel including
caps, gowns, diploma frames, graduation announcements, certificates of
appreciation, alumni clothing and gifts.
In addition to its regular hours next week, the bookstore will be open
from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on May 18 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 19. The store
also will have a booth at the Save Mart Center for the hooding ceremony
and also the morning of Commencement, which begins at 10 a.m.
Students are urged to shop early to guarantee sizes, said Kim Spencer,
assistant merchandising buyer for Kennel. For information about

Students also are reminded that senior portrait photo sessions will be
held in the Smittcamp Alumni House from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May
16, and Thursday, May 17. Graduates may book a sitting online at
