CSU Summer Arts ends 2007 season

Emmy award winner Alf ClausenThe final week of California State University Summer Arts’ ninth-straight session at California State University, Fresno kicks off Sunday, July 22, with a lecture on film scoring by Emmy-winner Al Clausen.

Clausen has written music for such TV series as “The Simpsons” and “Moonlighting” and for movies and is a jazz musician and composer and arranger. He also is one of the master teachers in the CSU Summer Arts program. The master teachers perform or present during their two-week classes in the performing or visual arts, each of which culminates in public presentations by students.

Golden Rock by Bob KristClausen’s lecture will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Conley Lecture Hall in the Phebe Conley Art Building. Prices are $7 general admission and $5 for students, seniors, faculty and staff.

The other performances during the week:

Sunday, July 22 – Solo theater performance by Luis Alfaro at 7 p.m. in the John Wright Theatre (Speech Arts Building).

Monday, July 23 – Photography lecture by Bob Krist at 8 p.m. in Conley Lecture Hall

Tuesday, July 24 – Theater lecture by Donald Bemrose at 8 p.m Conley Lecture Hall.

Student culminations in solo performance, creative writing, music technology, animation and painting, drawing and photography are scheduled Thursday, July 26, and Friday, July 27. All are open to the public and free.
