Settlement  reached for Campus Pointe project

The city of Fresno, California State University, Fresno, and Kashian Enterprises have reached an agreement on the Campus Pointe development, averting pending litigation.

Fresno City Manager Andy Souza said, "This agreement is in keeping with our principles to ensure that development pays its fair share for their impacts to the city.  The city, the university, and the developer worked collaboratively to address all of the issues as listed in the litigation.

This is a win-win for all, the university, city and the public," said Cynthia Teniente-Matson, vice president for administration for Fresno State. "We are pleased that we were able to reach agreement with the city and avoid future litigation. We sincerely appreciate the time and effort put forth by city staff to finalize this matter.

"The Campus Pointe project will enhance the university and provide housing and services to both the university and the surrounding community," she said.

In addition to the developer agreeing to pay applicable city impact fees, Fresno State has agreed to provide to the city the necessary right-of-way to complete future planned improvements at the Willow and Bullard intersection, including a multi-use trail adjacent to Willow Avenue.
