Madden Library to close for several hours Sept. 18

The Henry Madden Library at California State University, Fresno will be closed until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, when construction crews install concrete outer walls on the new Library building. The Library will be open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. that day.

The closure is for safety reasons as crews install wall panels near the existing library entrance.

To assist students who may be inconvenienced, the Library will stay open late – until 10 p.m. – the night prior to the closure (Sept. 17).

From Sept. 17 to Sept. 21, the walkway between the Library and University Center will be closed as the wall installation is in progress.

Online reference services will remain in operation during the closure on Tuesday. The services are available via the "Ask the Librarian" form on the Library's Web page and via e-mail at reference@lib.csufresno.edu.

Books requested from the warehouse can be picked up in the northwest entrance of the University Center on Tuesday until the Library reopens that day at 3 p.m.

Library kiosks will be set up in the free speech area and near Parking Lot D to inform students who may not know that the Library is closed.
