Chestnut Avenue work moving ahead

The final permit approvals from City of Fresno for the entire Chestnut Avenue project and been received and the construction crews have remobilized.

Crews this week are staking for curb, gutter and road pavement in order to reopen the western portion of Chestnut Avenue between Shaw
and Barstow by the end of the month.

Pressure testing of the new water lines also is under way. Once the lines are tested and approved by the city, the traffic control north of Bullard Avenue can be removed and paving will be completed.

Repair of an old leaking Fresno Irrigation District irrigation line is being done at the Barstow/Chestnut intersection. When completed, that portion of Barstow Avenue east of the intersection will be repaved.
