Researchers to present work at geological conference

Researchers from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at California State University, Fresno will be among the geoscientists presenting at the 119th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA).

The Oct. 27-31 meeting in Philadelphia is expected to attract more than 6,300 geoscientists.

Representatives from Fresno State and the papers they will present are:

  • Professor Robert Dundas – “The late Pleistocene vertebrate fauna from the Merrell locality, Beaverhead County, Montana”

  • Professor John Wakabayashi – “Mélange types and formation in contrasting settings associated with convergent margin tectonics”

  • Ori Sartono, a 2007 graduate – “Parameterization of a fractured hard rock aquifer in western foothills of the Sierra Nevada, California”
