Special plea for help: Red Cross seeks volunteers for drive to help SoCal fire victims

Volunteers from the university community are being asked to join forces with the Fresno-Madera Red Cross and assist with a major donation drive to benefit victims of the disastrous Southern California fires. The following message was posted to the campus online Bulletin Board by the Office of Civic Engagement and Service-Learning:

The Fresno-Madera Chapter of the American Red Cross has planned a major donation drive for Thursday, October 25th and volunteers are desperately needed.  All donations will go directly to Red Cross chapters in the Southern California area to help serve those impacted by the wildfires.

The drive, in conjunction with Peak Broadcasting, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. at "Radio City," just west of Palm and Shaw avenues in Fresno Volunteers are needed to help collect cash during any of the following three hour shifts:

  • 5 a.m. - 8 a.m.

  • 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.

  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

  • 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

  • 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
