This year's Lunafest - nine films by, for and about women - is scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Satellite Student Union at California State University, Fresno.

This is the seventh annual presentation of the traveling film festival intended to promote awareness of women's issues, spotlight female filmmakers and help bring women together in their communities.

The 2008 Lunafest films range from animated shorts to fictional drama about women, covering such topics as women's health, body image, spirituality, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

Following is this year's Lunafest lineup:

* "My Other Mother," directed by Diana Keam - A mother shows her daughter how to grieve. * "Make A Wish," directed by Cherien Dabis - A Palestinian girl will do whatever it takes to buy a birthday cake. * "Dona Ana/Mrs. Ana," directed by Laura Acevedo and Carolina Escobar - A medicinal plant vendor shares share the details of her life along and her love of strawberries. * "Happiness," directed by Sophie Barthes - After buying a box of happiness at a strange store, Iwona must decide what to do with it. * "Godir Gestir/Family Reunion," directed by Isold Uggadottir - A tale of secrets revealed on a New Yorker's visit to her native Iceland. * "Daikon Ashi," directed by Ru Kuwahata - A young girl struggles with adolescent rebellion and the reality of family ties. * "Breaking Boundaries," directed by Jennifer Grace -- A documentary about an Olympic athlete's determination and success. * "The Guarantee," directed by Jesse Erica Epstein - A dancer's hilarious story about his prominent nose and its effect on his career. * "Pockets," directed by Sophie Ohara - A pocket is an abstract metaphor for the journey of motherhood.

Proceeds from the Fresno State event ($8 students, $10 general in advance; $10/$12 at the door) benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the Women's Resource Center on campus.
