PoinsettiasEnvironmentally friendly poinsettias produced by California State University, Fresno students are available at the Farm Market at Fresno State for $6 each.

Dr. John T. Bushoven, assistant professor of horticulture, said the students doubled production of plants this year. In producing the poinsettias, they reduced fungicide and systemic insecticide use and fertilizer leaching, as well as water use with drip irrigation.

The Farm Market is at the corner of Barstow and Chestnut avenues. Hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 1, 2008.
